Spurs better off without Kane?

Published on: 05 February 2016

A bizzare stat has shown that Tottenham would in fact be better off if striker Harry Kane hadn't scored a goal at either end of the pitch this season.

The 22-year-old has scored fifteen times so far this campaign, but if all those goals were taken away Tottenham would lose only one point - coming from a 1-1 draw away to Arsenal. This point is more than made up for if we take away the one goal Kane scored at the wrong end of the pitch this season, an own goal in a 2-2 draw at Swansea that cost his team the win.

These stats are in stark contrast to last season where Kane's goals accounted for an addtional 24 points to Spurs final total.
