Stadium access to be limited to only vaccinated persons- Ghana Health Service

The Ghana Health Service has revealed only people vaccinated will have access to the stadium during and after the festive period.

According to the director-general Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, the steps are taken to make sure the virus does not spread and the number of deaths reduced.

"We are taking steps to protect the country towards the Christmas season,” he said.

Before the start of the new season, the FA had announced without vaccination, no person will be allowed to the stadium but that is yet to be implemented.

“Among COVID-19 deaths at the Ghana Infectious Diseases Center, 12.5% of the deaths were persons who had been vaccinated (they also had severe underlying medical conditions). The rest, 87.5%, hadn’t been vaccinated,” added Kuma-Aboagye.

The move is expected to affect attendance to match centers, however the Ghana Health Service sees it as a great way of having the population vaccinated.
