Stephane Mbia sends emotional farewell message to Trabzon fans

Cameroon captain Stephanie Etoude Mbia has expressed his gratitude to the fans of Turkish side Trabzonsopor after switching camp to China.

The 29-year old defensive midfielder commended fans of the Super Ligue side for their unrelenting support showered him in his days in Turkey.

The skipper of the Indomitable Lions had an indifferent six month spell in the Turkish Super Ligue with Trabzonspor before joining the ever growing contingent in the Chinese league.

The two times UEFA Europa League winner swapped Spanish side, Seville, for a three year deal in Turkey with Trabzon but ended his spell in Turkey just six months into the deal.

The much travelled Stephane admits missing the fighting spirits exhibited by the fans and the rich history boasted by his Turkish paymasters.

“I have no regrets coming to Trabzon at all.

The beginning was beautiful and promising but the club has had few challenging months recently.

Trabzon is certainly one of the top four clubs in Turkey and a great team to have been part of.

I am very happy to have been part of such a great side with rich history in European football and to have defended the colours with my heart”, Mbia told GHANAsoccernet.com.

The Lions Skipper joined Chinese side Fortune FC in the winter transfer window as part of the massive infiltration of big name players heading to China.
