Former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah has expressed his confidence in the team's ability to secure a win against Madagascar in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Appiah, who is also the Vice Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, believes the team can build on their resounding 5-0 victory over Chad. He addressed the team at their hotel in Morocco, delivering an emotional and inspiring speech.

"We believe in you, and we know that you guys are going to do it. We are talking about the World Cup. Make yourself proud and make Ghana proud. We wish you the best of luck," Appiah said.

The former Black Stars skipper emphasized the importance of mental toughness, noting that the upcoming match against Madagascar will pose a unique challenge.

"You know the game that you will be playing against Madagascar will be different from the game you played against Chad because they have a different style of play. So, you just have to tune your mind."

Ghana currently sits two points ahead of second-placed Madagascar in Group I, and a victory on Monday would secure the Black Stars a comfortable lead.
