Stephen Appiah ready for World Cup lead role

Ghana captain Stephen Appiah has spoken of his readiness to lead the Black Stars at the World Cup finals in South Africa.

Appiah made only two league appearances this term after playing a bit-part role in their qualifying campaign.

The 29-year-old is a member of Ghana's initial World Cup in Paris, France trimming the rough edges for the tournament which runs from 11 June.

“I am good, I think that I played the game and I feel fit for the world cup. I wish to ask all of you to pray for the Black Stars in the upcoming world Cup” Appiah told Citifmonline.com
