Stephen Appiah reclaims Ghana number 10 jersey for World Cup

Ghana captain Stephen Appiah has reclaimed his number 10 jersey with the release of squad numbers for the World Cup finals.

The "magic" jersey number was worn by playmaker Kwadwo Asamoah at the Africa Cup of Nations and the Udinese star will don jersey number 21 at the mundial.

Inter Milan ace Sulley Muntari who was absent at the African championship, has been handed his favourite number 11 jersey.

Newcomer Kevin Prince Boateng will be spotted in the number 23 jersey in his first major competition on the African continent.

Defender Jonathan Mensah takes over Michael Essien's customized number 8 in the national team.

Goalkeeper Richard Kingson retains his number 22 top with John Mensah also holding onto his favourite jersey, the number 5.
