Ex-Ghana captain Stephen Appiah was unveiled as a player of Serbian Super Liga side FK Vojvodina on Friday after signing a six-month deal.

The 31-year-old was unveiled by the club at a press conference on Friday in Novi Sad.

Appiah will wear the No. 4 jersey.

He will join the club's winter season preparation in Turkey by Saturday evening.

Appiah is now one of the biggest names to play in the Serbian top-flight.

This comes after the Ghanaian successfully underwent medicals to become the biggest signing in the club’s history.

The deal with Appiah is a major boost for the club who are attempting to break the duopoly of Partizan Belgrade and they have already signed Brazilian Moreira.

“There is no doubt that the arrival of one of the experienced players Appiah is the biggest transfer in the history of the club,” Vojvodina said in a statement.

Appiah has been clubless since leaving Italian side Cesena last season and has since been linked with several collapsed moves.

The former Juventus and Fernabace midfielder has been in regular contact with former Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac.

His former Juventus team-mate Milos Krasic has also had spells with the Serbian side.
