Stephen Appiah’s son Rodney Appiah makes GPL debut for Great Olympics in win over Liberty

Rodney Appiah, son of Ghana football legend Stephen Appiah made his debut for Great Olympics in the Ghana Premier League match day 22 against Liberty Professionals on Sunday. 

The youngster was introduced into the game in the second half to help the “dade boys” clinch a 2-0 win over Liberty Professionals at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Rodney was signed by Great Olympics from the second-division outfit KingStep FC in the second transfer window after impressing on trails.

He has worked his way up to the senior team and was given a chance to follow in the foot steps of his dad by Coach Annor Walker in Sunday’s game.

Rodney Appiah after the game took to social media to express his delight after making his debut in the Ghanaian top-flight.

“Today is a milestone in my football career as I played my first game for my club Accra Great Olympics. Looking forward to an exciting time ahead”.

Olympics won the game to move up third on the league log with goals from Maxwell Abbey Quaye and Joshua Rhule.
