Sterling Sports Africa launched in Accra-Ghana

Former Ghanaian footballer Sakibu Nuhu today has launched a new sports agency, Sterling Sports Africa.

Sterling Sports Africa aims to become “one of the top global sports agencies on the continent”, according to Sakibu 'Sterling' Nuhu.

Focusing on football, Sterling Sports Africa – licensed in 2019 is planning scouting activities in selected regions in Ghana in the coming months.

Sakibu Nuhu speaking at the launch said, “Sterling Sports Africa is a unique offering combining business expertise with personal attention and access to a global football setup and infrastructure across all media unparalleled in the sports field.”

“We will also be really pleased to team up with academies to launch African talents into major football leagues in the world."

Sakibu, who started playing football in Asamankese in the Eastern Region of Ghana played for clubs including Evergreens FC, Liberty Professionals, Zurack FC and Landon Soccer Academy in Ghana.

He trained with several clubs in Egypt including Al Wasta FC and Al Mansura FC but due to a knee injury, he could not sign a professional deal with any of the club's he trained with.

His career was cut short after Sakibu underwent knee surgery, and he opted to use a medical redshirt and return for another stint which was also hindered by another injury.

After his successful playing career, he became an official football agent recognized by the Ghana Football Association.

Sakibu was forced to abandon his hopes of a professional career after knee injury when he was in his early 2011 at Al Mansoura FC.

Sakibu Nuhu was licensed by the Ghana Football Association and he is now a FIFA intermediary scouting for talents across the continent for clubs around the world.
