Stevanovic brimming with confidence as 2012 AFCON approaches

Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic is surer as the days trickle down of the chances of the Black Stars at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Serbian trainer has consistently stated his desire to lead Ghana to its first African title in 30-years but has taken it a notch further by reiterating his conviction that the Black Stars will triumph as the tournament approaches.

"Everyday I believe more in that because the players are fantastic professionals," he told KickOffGhana.com.

"Their commitment, approach to the training sessions is fantastic and I speak with them every day and give them confidence.

“I am sure after the first game Ghana will show the people of the world that we are really really favourites for this tournament."

Stevanovic is adamant the mix of experience and youthful players will help Ghana reach it's target in Gabon where they face Mali, Guinea and Botswana in the group stages.

"I think at this moment we have enough experienced players and enough young players with some tournament behind them.

"I think in this moment we have good mix between the old and young players with good experience and this is our big quality.

"We have one good year behind us, terrific qualifiers when we won all games, very good friendly games and all this give me reason to think we have a chance to win trophies."
