Steve Bruce confident on Gyan fitness

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has expressed confidence striker Asamoah Gyan has won the battle over his toe injury and will be ready for this weekend's test against Bolton.

The six-goal hitman played the second half of the visit at Fulham last weekend through the injury which he sustained at training last two weeks.

But Bruce is confident his £13m record signing will be 100% fit when Owen Coyle's side come to the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

"Asa's okay," he confirmed. "He's been a little bit sore but is moving freely now and we expect him to be fully fit by the end of the week."

Gyan imposing display has forced Bruce to push youngster Danny Welbeck to midfield.
