Stop Black Stars player selection debate- Preko

Published on: 27 July 2012

Ex-international Yaw Preko wants the public debate on which players should be invited to or dropped from the Black Stars to end.

The former Anderlecht star believes this is making the work of head coach Kwasi Appiah difficult.

Just recently, former Ghana FA chairman Kwesi Nyantakyi suggested Appiah dropped the old guards and gave more playing time to youthful players.

Striker Asamoah Gyan hit back at the astute administrator and former Black Stars striker Augustine Ahinful also had a harsh reply for Tamakloe.

"They should leave Kwasi Appiah to do his job, he knows his players, he is in charge," Preko told 90 minutes.

"I know everybody has an opinion but at the end it’s Kwasi Appiah who will be held responsible.

"Whether we win or lose, it's him who will answer. He wants victory so he will make sure he selects the best players available."
