Striker Khalid Abdul Basit strikes twice in Sheriff Tiraspol big home victory in Moldovan Cup

Ghanaian striker Khalid Abdul Basit bagged a brace on Tuesday in FC Sheriff Tiraspol heavy home win in the Moldovan Cup.

Sheriff thumped lower-tier side Saxan Gagauz Yeri 6-0 in the round of 16 of the competition at the Sheriff Stadium.

Abdul Basit scored in each half of the match to the hosts secure a place in the quarter-finals of the Moldovan Cup.

Ghanaian compatriot Edmund Addo was among the scorers for Sheriff.

The other goals came from Colombian midfielder Frank Castaneda, Ivorian forward Nadrey Dago and defender Maxim Cojocaru.

Abdul Basit has now netted 3 goals in 6 appearances in all competitions for Sheriff since he joined the club.
