Striker Kofi Nti Boakye has revealed he snubbed Hearts of Oak to join rivals Asante Kotoko because of his desire to win titles.

Boakye joined Kotoko last Monday on a two-year-deal after completing a one-year stint with United Arab Emirates side Al kaleej where he bagged 14 goals.

He claims he was offered the chance to play for Hearts but opted to sign for his boyhood club due to their title ambitions.

"I had all the chance to join Hearts but I chose Kotoko because this is where I want to be," Nti told 90 Minutes newspaper.

"I am sure if you ask most kids which team they would like to play for, quite a number of them would say Kotoko because of their size and history.

"I have a chance to that with Kotoko now and I'm excited."

The ex-Heart of Lions is the junior brother of former Ghana international Isaac Boakye who once played for Asante Kotoko.
