Ghanaian striker Patrick Nyarko has been voted the Chicago Fire Supporters Player of the Year award.

The 26-year-old scooped the award after beating Ghanaian team-mate Dominic Oduro and Chris Rolfe with 35% of the votes cast.

He featured in all 34 MSL games for Fire and contributed 4 goals and 8 assists.

Chicago ISA Board chair Joel Biden says Nyarko won the fans' hearts with his dedication and passion for the game.

He said: "I gotta give Nyarko my vote. He takes the knocks and he keeps playing a passionate game in a style I find entertaining to watch. Every time he found the back of the net I was overjoyed for him."

He managed to play all games in the season despite picking a knock during the second half of the season.

Ghanaian compatriot Dominic Oduro won the award last season.

Nyarko has one cap after playing in February's 1-1 draw against Chile in an international friendly in Pennsylvania.
