Striker Waris wants to explode with second Ghana call-up

Swedish top-flight league top scorer Abdul Majeed Waris is hoping to make a huge impact with his second Ghana call-up.

The 20-year-old striker is available for selection for Wednesday's against China at the at the Xi’an Shaanxi Province Stadium.

Waris made his debut in February as a second-half substitute in the friendly against Chile.

But in six months, the Hacken striker scored a lot of goals to emerge leading scorer in the Swedish Allsvenskan after 19 rounds of matches with 14 goals.

Waris is delighted to return to the Black Stars and wants to put in an impressive shift.

"I think everybody should be happy to wear the jersey of the national team. I learnt a lot when I first came, in terms of hard work and people sacrificing for the jersey," he said.

"I think it’s something I have to add if I wear the jersey. I just have to make sure that I work really hard and make the whole Ghana proud.

"(I will offer) Nothing less than my best. And just work hard for the jersey and make everybody proud."
