Struggling Ghana Premier League side BA United drop criminal case against former CEO Roy Arthur

BA United have dropped criminal charges filed against embattled former chief executive Roy Arthur.

Arthur, the youngest CEO in the Ghana Premier League, was fired last week for the third time this season in the wake of their 4-1 demolition at leaders Ashantigold.

In a rare show of power-play, Arthur is reported to have seized control of the team’s properties including player’s registration cards and jerseys.

The move prompted officials of the struggling Brong Ahafo-based side to report him to the Sunyanyi Police Command.

But club board chairman Peter Nimo has confirmed the charges have been dropped after he returned the seized items.

“We have dropped the criminal case against him, Roy has returned what he took away and so we have settled the matter amicably,” he told Starr FM

“The team is now forging ahead to turn things around. We must put the past behind us and work towards survival.”

United managed a 1-1- stalemate against fellow strugglers Hearts of Oak at home last Sunday.
