Ghana Premier League side Karela United has announced a mutual separation with assistant coach Abubakari Damba.

The decision was revealed in an official statement shared on the club’s social media platforms on Friday, January 10.

In the statement, Karela United explained that the move came after thorough deliberations. The club further expressed gratitude to the experienced coach for his contributions and wished him success in his future endeavours.

“After careful consideration, Karela United has decided to mutually terminate the contract of assistant coach, Abubakari Damba. We are grateful for his service and commitment to the team, but feel that a change is necessary to achieve our goals. We wish coach Damba the best,” the statement read.

The decision comes at a difficult time for Karela United, who find themselves battling in the relegation zone after collecting just 14 points from 16 league matches.

The club is under pressure to reverse its fortunes and avoid dropping out of the top flight at the end of the season.

Reports suggest that Karela United is planning to strengthen its technical team as part of efforts to revive the campaign and improve its performance in the league.
