Organizers of African Fashion Week London have named wife of Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari, Menaye Donkor-Muntari as its 2012 ambassador.

The African Fashion Week London is an annual event which aims at showcasing the rich culture and diversity in African fashion, designers and fabrics to the  international community in the UK.

This year’s event was held at the London Spitalfields Market between the 3-4 August and attracted  an estimated 15,000 visitors to the site.

Organizers of the event after its successful second edition thus decided to make the Ghanaian superstar model and philanthropist their ambassador for 2012 to continue spreading the news and creating more awareness of the event which is fast developing into a festival.

Menaye is also to lead the charge to have players find ways of addressing the numerous challenges facing the industry especially with infrastructure.

African designers are also urged to be more business savvy to attract the necessary investors to gain global prominence and tap into the promise of the fledgling industry.
