Sunderland boss Allardyce slams ‘stupid’ international fixtures

Published on: 20 March 2016

Sam Allardyce has hit out at football associations around the world for holding 'stupid' international fixtures over the next week.

Allardyce's Sunderland drew 1-1 with north east rivals Newcastle United on Sunday which was their first game in two weeks having last played in early March against Southampton.

The Black Cats next take on West Bromwich Albion on April 2 which has Allardyce enormously frustrated about the international break which has now taken place.

He said: "We have got another two weeks to wait before we play again. We had a long wait to play this one when I wanted a game next week.

"Now we have got another two weeks for football associations to make money with stupid b****y friendlies."
