Sunderland defender backs Gyan for goals

Sunderland defender Titus Bramble is backing record signing Asamoah Gyan to score plenitude of goals and predicts the Ghana forward will form a deadly partnership with Darren Bent.

Bramble believes the attacking pair can rake in at least 30 goals between themselves this term.

Gyan, signed for 13 million pounds from French side Rennes, is set to make his English Premier League debut at Wigan this Saturday.

Bramble has yet to see Gyan in training but saw enough during the 2010 world cup when Gyan led the line admirably for Ghana and is in no doubt Sunderland have made a great signing that will compliment the established goal scoring skills of Bent.

Bramble said: "Darren guarantees you goals, but he does like playing with someone up there and I think Gyan will be a good partner for him.

"I watched him at the World Cup and was extremely impressed with him then.

"We haven’t played with him in training yet because he went back to France to collect his things and then went away on international duty, but we are looking forward to seeing him in a Sunderland shirt.

"I reckon they are definitely going to get at least 30 goals a season between them and that is what you need if you are going to be successful."
