German-born Ghanaian attacker Aaron Seydel has signed a contract extension with Bundesliga II side SV Darmstadt.

The 26-year-old, who was on the radar of Hannover 96, penned a new deal that will keep at the club until 2024.

"I feel great appreciation from the club and am very grateful to continue to have the opportunity to push the potential of the club and myself to the limit. It's fun every day to go to the Bölle, to train here and games to play, so I was keen to stay here, regardless of how things turn out on Sunday," he told the club's official website.

Seydel has netted six goals in 21 games this season for the second tier side.

"I'm happy to be able to continue to accompany and exploit Aaron's sporting potential as a coach. Right from the start, we had a good commitment as to how we want to gradually build and build him up again after his serious injury. In general and especially in this case, Aaron presented himself very professionally," said manager Torsten Lieberknecht.

"He worked hard to get the maximum out of himself, which gave him confidence in his body. That was the basis for his strong sporting performances with goals. The joint decision to Extending the contract was therefore only logical," he added.
