Swansea boss Rodgers unimpressed by Arsenal hero Keown comments

Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers has hit out at Arsenal hero Martin Keown.

Keown last week by claimed watching them is like watching paint dry.

Rodgers said: “Oh did he say that? Well, we certainly painted the room a nice bright colour for him here.

“I’m not here to preach about how we play, for us, it’s our way of playing. I don’t worry about it. One month ago we were going to be Barcelona, playing European football.

“Then four weeks later after losing four games we were going to be relegated. People just need to have a sense of realism from where we have come.

“This is a group of players who don’t even have grass pitches to train on. We train on astroturf. That’s how we prepared to play Blackburn Rovers — and we had to wait until the Ospreys rugby team got off the astroturf pitch before we could use it.

“What they have achieved in the circumstances is absolutely phenomenal. We’ve got brilliant supporters, the city is right behind us and if you get the performances then you get the plaudits.”
