Communication Director of Hearts of Oak, Opare Addo has told fans of the club to 'take their minds off' reports the club is set to appoint Ibrahim Tanko as assistant coach of the club.

Reports were widespread that the club is looking at naming the former Ghana striker as their new assistant coach after Tanko revealed his eagerness to work with any local club ready for his services.

Opare Addo admits the club is sticking with coach Nii Odoom for the 2020/21 season, and has no plans of making any changes to the head of the technical department.

"People should take their minds off regarding Ibrahim Tanko. We're looking for an assistant coach. Edward is going to lead the team for the upcoming season as the head coach," he told Hello FM.

"When Kim Grant left we made it clear that Odoom has taken place. We didn't state otherwise. If there is any change we'll announce it," he added.

The Phobian last month appointed Portuguese trainer Vaz Pinto as Technical Director, but the expatriate coach left less than a week on the job.

"I think we made it clear in the announcement we sent out that Pinto came in as a Technical Director. The issue here is that the Pobiman academy will comprise of U12, U17, the Auroras and the main team. So he was not brought in as head coach of the club but as Technical Director of the club," said Opare Addo.

Hearts will travel to Dormaa to play Aduana Stars in the opening fixture of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.
