The 19-year-old was absent when the club started the third and last block of preparation for the new season on Saturday.

He was not the only player as goalkeeper Andre Onana and captain Dusan Tadic were also missing with head coach Erik ten Hag explaining their absence.

"Onana has an ankle injury," said trainer Erik ten Hag after the practice session.

"Tadic has to do some medical tests and Kudus has to prepare the last papers before coming to the Netherlands."

Kudus, who has been capped twice by Ghana, moved to Ajax on a five-year deal after an excellent season in Denmark with FC Nordsjælland.

The Right to Dream Academy graduate scored 11 goals in 27 league appearances and provided one assist.
