Ex Ghana striker Tanko Ibrahim is urging the Ghana FA to make good use of Otto Addo in gathering vital information especially on the Germany team ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The Black Stars have been drawn in a tough group alongside the three time winners, Portugal and USA on its third appearance at the finals.

Ghana aim at going at least one better than the quarter final finish achieved last terms in South Africa.

And the former Black Stars striker who is now the assistant coach of Cameroon - who will also be at the World Cup - wants the Ghana FA to put tap into the in-depth knowledge of his ex national team colleague in gathering vital information especially against Germany.

“Of course I kept an eye on Ghana despite my focus being on the Cameroon team during the draw,” Tanko told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“Ghana will be coming up against very good teams in Germany, Portugal and USA.

“Enough information must be gathered against the teams in the group.

“If authorities want some help, sure I’ll like to help but I don’t think it will be as effective due to my job with Cameroon.

“But there are other people like Otto Addo who is also a coach and has stayed almost his entire life in Germany. He will provide credible information about Germany for instance.

“It is up to him (Otto Addo) whether he will want to accept such a role but I believe people like him and many others can help out in this area.

“But of course such a thing can only occur if the coach gives the green light but I believe it will help a great deal in arming the Black Stars before the tournament.”

Addo now works as one of the U19 team coach of Hamburg haven retired from football in 2008.
