A scheduled tournament involving Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko in Tanzania has been postponed due to organizational challenges.
A Press Conference scheduled for this morning to give details of how the tournament would be organized and the packages involved was scrapped following news that the stadium earmarked for the competition would not be available.
However both Ghana teams would be paid their appearance fees in conformity with the agreement with the organizers.
"We have been informed the tournament has to be postponed due to some organizational challenges," GFA/International Relations Director of Kotoko Kwame Baah-Nuako confirmed to Accra-based Hot FM.
"We are very disappointed with the turn of events but the organizers have offered to pay our appearance fee knowing very well they could be liable if they don't fulfill their part of the agreement."
September has been already proposed as the month to organise the tournament but will be hosted in Zambia.
The Ghana Premier League clubs were originally set to battle the Tanzania duo of Young Africans and Simba FC on the weekend of 16-17 July at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
