Tarkwa United temporarily banned from using T&A Park

The Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association has ordered a temporary ban on Tarkwa United FC from using the Tarkwa T&A Park as their home venue, effective immediately.

Following the match between Tarkwa United FC and Karela United FC on July 9, supporters of Tarkwa allegedly attacked match officials and players of the opposing team after their 1-0 loss.

The Ghana Football Association’s decision is in accordance with Article 15(2) of the GFA General Regulations, which states that, “the GFA may order the closure of any league centre where the safety of clubs, Match Officials or Spectators cannot be guaranteed.”

This order is without prejudice to the determination of the case pending before the Disciplinary Committee.

In the meantime, the Division One League Board is to determine a new venue for Tarkwa United FC in their upcoming home matches.
