Former Argentina and Barcelona coach Tata Martino says he'd recommend Mauricio Pochettino for the Albiceleste job.

Martino, now in charge of MLS expansion franchise Atlanta United, says he'd like to see Tottenham boss Pochettino take charge of Argentina.

Asked who could succeed Edgardo Bauza, he told ESPN: "As a matter of friendship and relationship, I would love to see the coach of Pachetino be Pochettino."

Martino also nominated Diego Simeone (Atletico Madrid) and Jorge Sampaoli (Sevilla) as alternatives.

For his part, Pochettino has stated he's happy in his job at Tottenham.
