Teams have extra motivation against us - Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara

Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara believes there is a special motivation when teams face his side, noting that every club doubles their effort against them.

Ouattara’s comments came after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Vision FC, who are making their debut in the Ghana Premier League.

The win, secured by a second-half goal, marked back-to-back victories for Hearts for the first time this season, following their win over Medeama.

"Every team that plays against Hearts of Oak has double the motivation," Ouattara said. "They have added determination when facing us, and it's real. The playing body and the technical team must be serious and treat every match as if it’s the final."

The win saw Hearts of Oak climb the league standings, and Ouattara stressed the importance of maintaining focus and discipline as the season progresses.

"We need to focus on every match, every single match is important for Hearts of Oak. If we are disciplined, I believe it will help us gather the points," he added.

Hearts of Oak will face Karela United this weekend, hoping for another win that could push them into the top four, with the team currently in sixth place.
