LaLiga president Javier Tebas has expressed his happiness at the Spanish government's decision to allow football to return from the week beginning June 8.
Tebas had been eyeing a June 12 restart with the derby between Sevilla and Real Betis, and he has now received the go-ahead for this to occur.
"We are very happy with the decision, but it is the result of the great work of clubs, players, coaches... CSD [National Sports Council] and agents involved, but it is very important to follow the health rules and that the evolution of the pandemic respects us" Tebas tweeted.
"We cannot let our guard down."
Now, with the government's approval, everything is ready for the final 11 matchdays to be played in LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank to take place.
