The Board and Management of sensational Techiman City Football Club has refused to take credit for the wonderful positive strides so far , choosing to leave it at the doorsteps of the supporters of the club.

In a statement after the club's debut and victory in Ghana's Premier League, the club hailed the unflinching support of the supporters and well wishers as the tonic that motivated the "Atanfo NnyÉ› Nyame" team to push for the success story so far.

In the statement signed by the President of the club Charles Kwadwo Ntim, affectionately called Micky Charles, the club thanked the people of Brong Ahafo especially Techiman, Nkoranza, Wenchi, Kintampo, Yeji, Atebubu, Kwame Danso, Nananom, administrators of the Region, the Ghana Football Association and the Media for the various roles played in the difficult journey.

"The 1-0 victory over Chelsea can only be the perfect thank you and it is dedicated to the Chiefs and people of Northern Brong Ahafo, who believed in the team and continuously showed support and affection even when all seemed lost", the statement read.

Issaka Ibrahim scored the lone goal for the newly promoted side against former champions Berekum Chelsea, sparking wild jubilation in the market town with fans celebrating deep into the night.

Techiman City next travel to Sekondi to face Hasaacas before returning home to host Aduana Stars at the Nana Ameyaw Park, which saw a huge crowd turnout last Sunday to witness the first premiership match in Techiman for years.
