TECNO Ghana to introduce smartphones to Ghanaian market

Tecno Ghana Limited would soon introduce Tecno brand of affordable smartphones unto the Ghanaian market this June.

Head of Media and Communications at Tecno Ghana, Rev. J. K. Asante disclosed this to Adom Business News in an interview, saying the Tecno brand of smartphone would gives users access to several applications including whatsapp' and others.

This announcement came after Tecno phones had been adjudged "Mobile Phone of the Year" and the recent Mobileworld Ghana Telecom Awards, beating superior brands like Nokia, Samsung and Blacberry.

Rev. Asante said the smartphones would be targetted at the young and young at heart, who tend to enjoy the use of modern features such as android and google applications on their phones.


He also assured Ghanaians that the Tecno smartphones would be of high quality and relatively affordable to meet the tastes and pockets of clients.

Tecno phones, which are imported from China with specifications from Tecno Ghana Limited, currently has between 35 to 40% of the mobile phone market share in Ghana largely because of its affordability.

Tecno Ghana has handsets that could take up to four SIM cards, butseveral customers on the company's own facebook account have been complaining about durability and other challenges they faced with their Tecno handsets.

But the company has assured customers and Ghanaians it is increasingly improving on the quality of its brand to ensure Ghanaians got value for money.

The company recently announced it would soon establish an assemblying plant in Ghana and start assemblying the handsets in country to provide more jobs for Ghanaians.
