Tema Youth enhanced their chances of beating the drop after a 2-0 win over relegated Real Tamale United at the Tema Park in the Ghana Premier League on Saturday.

Ghana U20 striker Francis Narh grabbed the opener for the Habour Boys seven minutes before recess with a fine finish.

Before a wasteful Daniel Appiah added the second nine minutes into the second half from a Narh assist.

Though RTU's fate in the top-flight has already been determined, this was a game they played with the determination it deserved.

Robert Carlos' side were superb in the opening twenty minutes as they entertained the few crowd with fluid display.

Mohammed Aminu and his colleagues should have shot the visitors ahead but they were not clinical up front.

Though RTU expressed dominance in midfield, the hosts occasionally came forward and created a plethora of chances which were all wasted.

In the 8th minute, Appiah managed to squeeze through Hassan Mohammed and his RTU teammates to lay a feeble low cross for Narh.

But the 19-year-old's connection was as weak as the cross and the visitors keeper collected with little difficulty.

RTU continued to dominate but a 38th minute goal dampened their spirits.

Narh managed to husk to the ball in to register the opener and calm nerves.

Youth settled after the break and continued to probe the RTU defence but that would not come easy as Robert Carlos shuffled his cards - effecting three substitutions.

But in the 54th, Appiah scored a classy curler to quench any RTU hopes of nicking just their sixth point of the campaign.

Despite the win, Youth are still languishing in the relegation zone - 14th with 26 point, two shy of Liberty's 28.
