Tema Youth defender Joshua Oninku piped favourite Baba Abdul Rahman to win the 2012 Ghana Premier League Most Promising Player.
The 16-year-old won six man-of-the-match awards this season and made 26 appearances.
He beat Germany-bound 17-year-old Asante Kotoko left-back Rahman.
Mighty Jets' Eli Agbeko was in contention for the award.
Oninku is a member of the Ghana Under-17 team.
