The 1989 European Cup final victory over Steaua Bucharest may have seen the peak of Arrigo Sacchi's legendary AC Milan side.

The match, played at Barcelona's Camp Nou, saw AC Milan, who hadn't reached a European Cup final in 30 years, take on Steaua, who had become European champions just three years earlier.

The Romanians ended up on the wrong end of a masterclass from AC Milan, with their Dutch stars taking centre stage.

Ruud Gullit and Marco van Basten scored twice each to sweep aside a Steaua team that included Gheorghe Hahi and Dan Petrescu.
