The investigation into Diego Armando Maradona’s death continues, with reports in Clarin that his personal nurse confessed she was told to lie.

A team of nurses and doctors were meant to be observing the legend closely in his home in Buenos Aires following surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain.

However, according to Argentine newspaper Clarin, one of the nurses confessed she had been urged to lie to investigators about when she had gone to check on him.

The report states Diego was conscious at 6.30am, but that the next nurse on shift heard noises coming from his room at 7.30 and didn’t go to check on him.

That is not what she had written on her original testimony.

There are also some question marks over the time of death, while reports of an ambulance taking 30 minutes to reach Maradona’s home have been rebuffed, showing it arrived 11 minutes after the phone call.
