THE LEGA SERIE A LANDS IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Tomorrow evening the opening event in the prestigious location of the Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York.

The Lega Serie A lands in the United States of America. And it does it in great style starting a new historic phase of the Italian soccer history, with the opening event “CALCIO IS BACK”, in the prestigious location of the Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York.
Many personalities of the institutional, professional, cultural and entertainment world will participate at this evening. All the Italian Clubs from Serie A and the legends Alessandro Del Piero, Alessandro Nesta, Andrea Pirlo e Christian Vieri, Ambassadors of Lega Serie A, together with NBA  and NFL champions. 

The operational and institutional centre of the project “CALCIO IS BACK” in the USA will be the new office of the Lega Serie A in Manhattan which recently opened. With the opening of the first international office it begins the ambitious and exciting project that will allow the Lega and the 20 Clubs associated with it to create new synergies while strengthening the relationships with institutions, broadcasters, brands, and fans who are present overseas.

“The opening of the office in the heart of Manhattan represent an historic moment for Italian soccer, one of the excellencies that have always characterised our country internationally – has declared Luigi De Siervo, CEO of the Lega Serie A-. The Serie A is a worldwide recognised brand, we are on the right track to compete in the upcoming years at international level. The American one is for us a strategic market and fundamental to export the Serie A brand, for a while it has been mentioned about opening a office location in the United States, finally we realised the dream that for year was in the drawer".

Many initiatives have already been done, including the organisation of the first viewing party in collaboration with Ribalta Restaurant, to follow the Frecciarossa Coppa Italia final of May 11th, in a room completely branded and embellished by the trophy.

Moreover yesterday at the Eataly Flatiron School, during the last act of the italian league, has been organised a cooking class with a regional theme and it was given a trophy replica of the Italian league to the AC Milan Club New York with the presence of Michele Ciccarese, Commercial and Partnership Director Serie A, and hundreds of AC Milan fans of the Big Apple.

Lega Serie A, in collaboration with ICE, will be present from May 18th to May 25th, with a temporary Expo “CALCIO IS BACK”, where the Italian and American fans will be able to touch with their hands, the trophies that made the history of our soccer and where many other initiatives will be organised to interacts with the supporters.


During the month of June, the Lega Serie A will be attending, with one of their ambassadors, the event Summer Fancy Food, one of the most relevant food festivals in the world; planned for June 12th and 14th June in New York. The bound between soccer and food, two of the most recognisable excellencies of our Country, will help strengthen the position of the Serie A in America through numerous partnerships with the main reference points of Italian food in the USA. The branded Serie A restaurants will be launched as well, representing ideal meeting point for the fans that will be able to experience the entertainment of the games while tasting the Italian cuisine.

Among the other projects ready to take off, the Serie A is starting in the United State affiliations with some of the main Colleges and Sport Campuses whit the goal to engage the younger generation currently in school who love our sport to increase the number of fan base of the Serie A on American soil. For this reason some of the great coaches of out league will support the American college coaches to support them and mentor them according to the great Italian school tradition.

Thanks to the collaboration with College Life Italia, the Serie A Select is ready to start. A series of organised tournaments at the regional and national level dedicated to the young American players.
