The timing of Hans Schmidt's changes in the CAF Confederation Cup was wrong- Yussif Chibsah

Former Asante Kotoko midfield kingpin Yussif Chibsah believes German trainer Hans Dieter Schmidt had it all wrong changing Charles Taylor in the final of the CAF Confederation Cup against Hearts of Oak.

Fifteen years after the defeat, the midfielder revealed star man Charles Taylor should have been left to continue the game when the Porcupine Warriors were leading their main rivals Hearts in the final.

"Watching the game again on Gtv Sports Plus few week ago, I realized the changes was done at the wrong time especially in the second leg," he said on Citi Tv's The Tracker.

"At the time that we effected the changes we were leading, we were on top of the game, we were controlling the game so we needed no change at that particular time but then unfortunately he (Hans Dieter Schmidt) was in charge and was the manager and the person who led us through the prelims, the group stages and to the finals so we trusted his judgement and believed it was the right thing he was doing but after some years you can tell we did not have to do that changes at that time," he added.
