Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku has expressed anticipation for a highly competitive football season ahead, with the new season set to begin on September 6.
Clubs are eagerly preparing for the upcoming matches, and the fixtures for the Ghana Premier League were revealed earlier this week.
Reigning champions Samartex will start their campaign against Dreams FC, while Kotoko and Hearts of Oak will face Karela United and Holy Stars respectively on the opening day.
Ghana will have three clubs in continental action, with Samartex and Nsoatreman in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup, respectively, and Hasaacas Ladies in the Women's Champions League.
Their competitions will start in August, with Okraku believing that will set the tone for what he believes will be a competitive season.
"The new football season is gradually nearing us, and it promises to be very competitive," he stated. "Our clubs in the GPL, Women's Premier League, and Division One League are all preparing diligently. Hasaacas Ladies, for instance, are already in camp getting ready for the Women's Champions League."
