The interim head coach of Asante Kotoko, Abdul Karim Zito, has noted that he’s seen a lot of improvement in the team since taking charge in April.
The experienced Ghanaian tactician was appointed on an interim basis to replace coach Prosper Narteh Ogum last month to lead the club as head coach until the end of the 2024/25 football season.
Coach Zito took charge of Kotoko at a time the team had gone four matches in the Ghana Premier League without a win.
Under coach Karim Zito, Asante Kotoko are three games unbeaten in the league, having won all matches to get back in the race for the league title.
Speaking in a post-match interview after Kotoko hammered Dreams FC 4-1 on Sunday, coach Zito said he believes the team has improved since he took over.
“There has been a lot of improvements. I’ve seen a lot of improvement. They give me their listening ear. Anytime I talk to them they listen. They are grownups, some with wives and children so that is where the management criteria comes in. You don’t have to be shouting all the time. Seriously they enjoy training with me. I’m like their father. We all joke but I’ve been advising them,” the Kotoko coach said.
Up next for the Reds, they will take on Bibiani Gold Stars in Week 32 of the Ghana Premier League.
