Halmstad defender Thomas Boakye played full throttle in their 2-0 win over against his former club Ãstersunds FK in the Swedish Superettan.
The 28-year-old scored full marks as the home side picked maximum points at the Idrottsplats Ãrjans Vall.
Compatriot Joseph Baffo scored the second goal after Erik Alhstrand put the home side in front as early as the 12th minute.
"I know they have many new players but Ali Keita and Sam Mensiro have remained in the team since my time in ÃFK. I look forward to meeting Ãstersund and I think it will be a good match," Boakye said before the match.
"The Superettan is a tough series and all teams want to beat HBK, which comes from the Allsvenskan. It is important that we are focused and stick to our match plan."
The Ghanaian defender, born in the country's second largest city, Kumasi joined the side from the famous Right to Dream Academy after winning four Gothia Cup titles.
After his years at Right to Dream, Thomas received a scholarship to a college in the south-west of England called Hartpury College.
After his time in England, Thomas, as a 19-year-old, signed for Ãstersunds FK. ÃFK then played in Division 1 North and was coached by Graham Potter.
