Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey is a major doubt for Atlético Madrid’s Champions League quarter-final tie with RB Leipzig next month.
Los Colchoneros will take on Leipzig on August 13, but could be without one of their star players, Partey, who suffered a muscle strain against in the 1-1 draw against Real Sociedad on the final day of the season.
The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a transfer to Arsenal in the summer, despite his contract at the Wanda Metropolitano still having three years left.
Reports suggest that Atletico are still intent on renewing the Ghana international midfielder’s contract at the club despite intense interest from the Gunners.
Partey made 46 appearances for the Wanda Metropolitano outfit in all competitions last term, providing one assist and plundering 4 goals.
