Thomas Partey absence from Arsenal's win over Fulham precautionary, says Gunners doctor

Arsenal doctor Gary O’Driscoll confirmed Thomas Partey's absence from their Premier League victory over Fulham was precautionary.

Partey has made an impressive start to the season, his fine form from last season, but he was ruled out of Saturday’s 2-1 win because he picked up a knock in training.

The club doctor speaking to fans after the game was encouraged by the fact the Gunners had apt depth to deal with the absence of Partey and other injured players. “Well the great thing is we have players that can fill in, that’s the difference isn’t it?”

With the next fixture only a few days away - a midweek visit of Aston Villa to Emirates Stadium - the medical team will be keen to not rush the duo back.
