Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has returned to Atletico Madrid after the international break.
The midfielder joined the rest of his teammates, who were not part of any international assignment in training as they begun preparations for the La Liga clash against Villareal on Saturday.
The Black Stars midfielder was in Ghana for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone, which was cancelled.
Partey, after a stellar campaign last season, where he played 50 games for the club has struggled to break into the starting line up this season.
The Ghana international has made only two starts in the Spanish top flight this season.
The 25 year old has been moved to the right back position by coach Diego Simeone because of competition for places in the middle of the park.
Partey is expected to start this weekend against Villareal after providing the important assist in Atletico's 1-0 victory over Real Betis.
