The GFA Executive Committee has approved the Match Review Panel’s recommendation to sanction a referee, an assistant referee and a match commissioner for decisions taken in respective GN Bank Division One League matches.

The Match Review Panel recommended for Referee Ali Musah, Match Commissioner Alhaji A.K.M Oliver and assistant referee Patrick Papala to be handed bans for decisions taken in respective Division One League matches they officiated.

The Executive Committee upheld the Review Panel’s recommendation not to appoint Referee Ali Musah to handle any match until he appears before the Panel and to warn Alhaji Oliver to be upfront with his line of duty after they were both invited to assist the Panel to determine whether the Referee was justified in ruling off a goal scored by Eleven Wise in the 88th minute of the Match day 20 game between King Faisal and Eleven Wise.

The Referee could not honour the invitation because according to him, he did not have enough time to ask permission from his employers while the Match Commissioner also gave a different account verbally from the account of his report.

In the Division One match between Nzema Kotoko and Proud United, the Executive Committee upheld the Review Panel’s recommendation not to sanction Referee Prince Tawiah but suspend Asistant Referee Patrick Papala for two (2) matches for disallowing Proud United a perfect goal in the 67th minute of the game.

The Panel observed that Referee Prince Tawiah disallowed the goal because his Assistant One’s flag was up indicating an offside position of the goal whiles he should have allowed play to continue.

The suspension takes effect from the date of this letter, Thursday 18th August, 2016.
