Tite: Only Messi and Ronaldo were better than Neymar when he was at Barcelona

Neymar's time at Paris Saint-Germain hasn't gone as well as he'd have liked, but Brazil coach Tite hasn't forgotten how good he was at Barcelona.

The player left the Camp Nou in 2017 for a world record fee, but he hasn't been able to deliver the same level of performances in France.

"Neymar's best time was at Barcelona," Tite told France Football, "when he started from the left and came into the middle.

"This coincided with his best spell for the national team.

"Starting on the wing, he used his reading of the game, his agility and his improvisation.

"He was physically and mentally peaking."

Tite added that only Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi were above Neymar at that time.

"Only they were better than him," he said.

"I'm not saying he's the best Brazilian player I've seen, but I've never seen that level from [Eden] Hazard, [Antoine] Griezmann or [Paul] Pogba.

"I've not seen any of them reach that level, only Neymar."
