To Krakow via Manchester. Will Yaw Yeboah save the Vistula?

His transfer was one of several. Although the break between the seasons was short, Wisła had to remodel the line-up (he is still doing it, looking for reinforcements, the transfer window is still open). So far, the effects are poor - there are many problems with the defense, we haven't managed to get the real striker yet (Fatos Beciraj doesn't look like him at all).

But Yeboah from the very beginning gives the impression of a footballer who may be useful. Maybe chaos crept into his game at times, but the Ghanaian does his best to fuel the game, sell it out, surprise rivals.

Besides, his CV suggests that he should be able to handle it in Poland without any problems. More - that it should stand out. He has made his debut in the French league (Lille OSC), he also played in the Dutch league (FC Twente).

- I will not hide that at first I was not convinced when my manager told me about the proposal from Wisła. I didn't know much about Poland, but I read about the country, the club, its history. I asked my father for advice. He said, "If you feel this is the right choice, go." And I feel good here, I cannot complain about anything, the fans welcomed me warmly, I got many nice messages from them - assures Yeboah.

The footballer's father is the school principal and pastor. He was never a fan of his son's passion, he preferred Yaw to study, but in the end he told him almost the same thing he did years later before his transfer to Wisła: "Do you want to play? Then play".

He was born in Accra, the capital of the country, but grew up in a small city where there was no training at the highest level. However, it soon turned out that Yeboah had a great talent - so he went to the Right to Dream academy in the south of the country, and when he was 15, the English from Manchester City decided that they wanted him at home. He was shocked to hear about it.

The transfer to Great Britain was not yet a guarantee of success, the great English clubs had already seen a lot of young talent that the world immediately forgot. Yeboah, however, had the right to believe that he would be playing at the highest European level. He was invited to train the first team, he learned from famous coaches Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellegrini.

- Logistically, the stay in England was not easy, dealing with formalities related to This is never the case with the Ghana Player Visa. But it worked, I had the opportunity to watch great players on the spot. From David Silva or Samir Nasri I learned how to move on the pitch, what decisions to make in a given situation. And at the same time they cheered me up, and I gained self-confidence. I was a teenager, so I didn't expect these players to suddenly invite me over as their best friend, but they treated me very well. To this day, I have fond memories of the dinner at which there was, among others, Emmanuel Adebayor - he says.

He never made his Manchester City debut. The English sent him on loan, and finally decided that the English league was too high for a young Ghanaian. But Yeboah has already climbed to a level far beyond the Polish league. In Twente Enschede he played, among others with Mateusz Klich.

- Is the transfer to Poland a step back for me? I just want to enjoy football, play at the highest level, in the highest league. Your top league is very "physical", which will allow me to gain new experiences. I like challenges, travels, new things. Goals? Simply achieve the best result with Wisła - he nods.

The goal is also to return to the Ghana national team. Yeboah has been called up several times before, but has only come out on the field once - in a friendly against Namibia last June. "In the past, I was captain of the Ghana youth team and at 17 I was voted the best player in the African U-20 Championship, so now I would like to play for the senior team points," he explains.

For now, he has to help Wisła win the match. After three rounds, Artur Skowronek's team has lost and two draws.
