Torino boss Ventura ‘disappointed’ not to have equalised against Napoli

Torino coach Giampiero Ventura believes his side could have snatched an equaliser during their defeat to Napoli.

The Granata leveled through Fabio Quagliarella after Lorenzo Insigne scored, but Marek Hamsik netted the winner moments before half time.

“Napoli are title candidates and in great form, but we had a different state of mind,” Ventura told Domenica Sportiva.

“However, we could have drawn level and for that reason we are disappointed, we have to improve in many aspects.”

Ventura was expelled from the touchline by the referee in the heated dying minutes of the match with his oppostie number Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri also suffering the same fate.

When asked about the decision, Ventura claimed: “I wasn’t sure why I was sent off, the negative period of results must end and  rediscover our form.

“We did play well tonight, it was essential that we do so tonight and hope the worst is behind us.”

Torino remain in 14th with 22 points, losing their last three games and haven’t won a game since 1st December.
