Tottenham and Chelsea to share Wembley Stadium in 2017

Published on: 03 February 2016

The Daily Mail has reported that Tottenham and Chelsea may have to share Wembley Stadium during the 2017-18 season. Both clubs are planning work on their home grounds in 2017 with Tottenham already confirmed that they are moving out of White Hart Lane. Despite not yet having planning permission for their stadium expansion Chelsea have already agreed a £20m a year deal with the FA to use Wembley, however, FA chief executive Martin Glenn and Wembley boss Julie Harrington believed  no favouritism should be shown to any one club provided equal terms can be negotiated. Reports are that Spurs are willing to match Chelsea's £20m a year offer meaning both London clubs could take residency in the home of English football.
